My Brother

Created by irishern 11 years ago
Tom was one of ten children he was the eldest boy, our sister Nell was the oldest. The family lived in Lisburn and moved to Bangor in N. Ireland in 1940 because of the war. Tom was only a teenager then, my self and my young brother wern't born. Tom went to work in the shipyard when he was fourteen. He left after the war when he was eighteen to join the R A F. He went to Egypt and I know that is where my brother started his wheeling and dealing, he did it most of his life. My brother had a heart of gold and so did Nancy his wife. When I was seventeen I came to England with my young brother Geordie, and Nancy and Tom took us in. 50 years on there was still a bed for us if we needed it. Tom, you were my best friend, my brother, you still live in my heart. God bless, keep a bed for me. Your loving brother Ernie. xx
